hmm, marbles ~ they're probably not played by todays kids... although, i know my brother collects conkers and WOULD play them if it wasn't for all the health and safety stuff around school now (which is pretty similar to marbles, no?)
I had to search google for 'conkers' :P Does look pretty similar to marbles, possibly one of those: 'it's all fun and games until someone gets a marble in their eye.' Fair enough I guess, ah, sad that the days of playing marbles and eating worms in the playground have passed... which raises the question, do kids still eat worms these days?
My bad, I didn't realise that conkers was just a British thing. There's a real art behind it ~ my dad said kids used to boil them to make their conker tough... but I think maybe one time someone got hurt so now there's a health and safety scare around it (which is a real shame).I don't know about worms but... this is weird --- I did use to eat ants when I was little because of the Jungle Book (that ant eating scene). It's kind of embarrassing to mention now (^_^;;)
That's brilliant!! And not weird at all! If it helps, I was quite partial to tasting random creepy crawlies myself (and apparently lego flowers)
